Tuning A Snare Drum Video

Here's a short video from Evans Percussion for anybody looking to get their new snare head up and running quickly. There's always some degree of fine-tuning after the initial tuning but this should get you most of the way there the first time.

Don't forget that the resonance side heads need replaced about every other time you replace the top side heads. They take a hell of a lot of abuse as well from the pressure of the top side impact and the raking of the snares themselves across it.

Pay attention as well to his recommendations on how to make sure your snares are even and contacting the drum at the same level.
